How Many?
The exact number of sounds will vary as the web site is updated, but the total number is currently over 1,000 sound files using about 20.2 MB of disk space.

How Much?
Purchase price is $7.99 (U.S. dollars), which is a 20% reduction from the regular price of $9.99. That amounts to less than 1 penny per sound file... a very serious bargain.

Delivery:
Bulk downloads are made available immediately after purchase. For CD-ROM, the charge for shipping and handling is $4, and shipping is available only to non-military addresses in the United States. Shipment will be made usually within one or two business days.

How??
Purchase is available via credit card or a PayPal account. Credit card payments will still be handled by PayPal, but membership in PayPal is not required.

  1. For bulk download, complete the PayPal procedure all the way through, in order to return to the WavSource page where you'll perform the download. IMPORTANT: Do NOT close the final PayPal page. You should be automatically redirected from PayPal back to WavSource, or you should click a link on that final PayPal page back to WavSource, so DO NOT close out of PayPal. When you return to WavSource from PayPal as described above, your download will be waiting for you.

  2. For CD-ROM, your order will be shipped usually within one or two business days after payment is made.


Technical Info:
All the sounds are Microsoft WAV files, most of which were recorded with the Windows operating system in PCM format at 22.050 or 11.025 kHz, 8 Bit or 16 Bit, Mono. The sound files you receive will be identical to the files at the WavSource web site, many of which have been converted to the MPEG Layer-3 format.

System Requirements:

  1. Computer with Windows 98 or higher operating system, or some other computer and operating system that can make use of Windows XP formatting and Microsoft WAV audio. Make sure your computer can play sounds downloaded from WavSource before purchasing. If in doubt about compatibility issues, ask before you buy.

  2. Software to play WAV files. Windows Media Player is recommended.

  3. Computer audio system or internal speaker.

  4. (For CD-ROM) Computer CD-ROM reader. Disc will not play on a music CD player.

  5. (For bulk download) Ability to open and decompress a standard Zip file created by Windows. The Zip format is a standard part of current Windows operating systems. To test your computer system's ability to handle Zip, click here to download and save a small test file to your hard drive, then double-click the test file to see if you can read the contents.

  6. (For bulk download) At least 45 MB of useable free space on your hard drive. High-speed Internet access is not required, but it is strongly recommended since the bulk download is about 20.2 MB and would take a LONG time to download via dial-up.

Refund Policy:
If the buyer experiences technical difficulties, WavSource will be happy to provide him or her with assistance and advice via email. The nature of digital media makes vendors unable to provide for refunds after such products are accessed by the buyer. For bulk download, the buyer's access is effective when download is complete. For CD-ROM, the buyer's access is effective upon delivery.
